Each time I go to the studio, I like to leave knowing that I was productive. Specifically, I like to leave after I've made a satisfactory piece. That type of attitude doesn't always work out because the more I focus on getting something out, the more stressed I get and the more likely the piece falls apart on the wheel. Being tense doesn't help. I've also discovered that hearing one-sided phone conversations really bug me when I'm working on the wheel. I don't care about your friend's baby shower!
I need to focus less on the end result and more on the progress. It's a struggle, but I hope to just continue going in and working at it regularly.
