Sometimes, it's best that one doesn't know exactly what one is getting into. That was the case with me last week when I participated in a free clown master class. I signed up a while ago thinking it would be interesting to get a refresher on clowning and see how a different teacher approaches clowning concepts.
When I arrived for the class, I learned that among the other participants were some acting instructors and professional actors. I was glad I didn't know that ahead of time because I may have been too intimidated to sign up.
I was tired the next day but it was a good experience. It was nice having a mini clown reunion with a some of my former classmates and experience different exercises that reinforce basic clown concepts like play and endless possibilities. It took me a while to warm up to the class and I wish I were more fearless about jumping in to take part in the exercises, but I'm still proud that I signed up for the class.
