Teseskkur ederim is Turkish for Thank you

This is a thank card that my sister and I created for the tour guide on our recent trip to Istanbul, Turkey. It had been while since we collaborated on a art project. We had not planned to creating a card, so we had no art supplies with us. We didn't even have any paper, so we had to ask the hotel reception desk for a few sheets. My sister had a multi-color ink pen and a mechanical pencil with a short piece of lead that was almost going to fall out and an eraser stub that couldn't really erase. So with these tools in hand, we worked on the card.

We wanted to create a fun card that incorporated some of the things the tour guide liked--specifically cats and his motorcycle. I saw his motorcycle and had an idea of how it looked, but wasn't really trying to do an exact copy. I did some online research for Ducati motorcycle pictures and did a sketch first. My sister drew the cat and once we got the main parts down, we positioned a fresh piece of paper over the sketch and traced over our sketch. Not having a fully functioning eraser and not enough lead in the mechanical pencil made it challenging because we didn't have a chance to redo our marks and we had to work with a pen for drawing.

It took a lot of time for us to complete the card, because we ended up drawing a background and then adding shading. However, we had fun drawing the cartoon and the tour guide appreciated the card as well.
