2018 comes to a wrap and here are my final drawings from December 2018. I started the year with absolutely no plan to do a daily drawing challenge, but here I am with 365 drawings to document my year. I'll follow up with a future post after I've had a chance to reflect on these drawings, but for now have a happy healthy and creative new year!

I worked with fellow artist GC to decorate the ukulele. Our goal was to create a colorful, cheery design. We knew we wanted to include a positive saying on the back and ended up with "Aloha", which according to Wikipedia stands for love, affection and peace. Nice when one word encompasses so many positive meanings.
My grandmother's sister was gifted this ukulele to decorate. She had it for a while, but didn't do anything with it so she asked my sister and me to decorate it for her.
We asked her what she wanted, but she kept on telling us to do whatever we wanted. It was difficult but we tried to explain to her that by her giving us information--something to go on--favorite colors, favorite subjects, etc..., it would make our work much easier. I'm not sure she really believed us, though. So this is my next project. Most likely, I'll do something colorful, flowers and animals. These three bowls are prepped and ready to go into the kiln for the first bisque firing. We'll see how they turn out the next time I head into the studio.
