First off, let me just say that I am NOT an exerciser. I lead a sedentary lifestyle working at an office and then coming home to more time on the screen. So any form of exercise would be good for me. Of course, I decide to go to the extreme and do an intense fitness kickboxing class. We did jabs, cross, uppercuts, hooks, front kicks and roundhouse kicks.
I knew better than to go all out, though and was successful in pacing myself knowing that I'm a first timer and a general couch potato. I was happy when I finished class without dying. Low expectations.
Overall, I don't think it's really my thing. I didn't find it all that fun compared to dance workouts, but the location of the studio is convenient and the moves are much easier to follow and it's a great channel to release pent up stress, anger. I have two more classes left in my intro pass so I'll try to take advantage of it so I don't lose out. Afterwards, I might do some drop in classes, but I don't see myself signing up as a regular member.
So what does all this have to do with this blog which is dedicated to recording my creative projects? I enjoy adding new experiences to my life because it gives me stuff to work with/inspiration when I create. Everything can be a source of inspiration for me. Also, the more I push myself to try out new things, the easier time I will have in taking risks and be less fearful of trying new things--all very useful when trying to make art.
