I typically like to have the Christmas tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this year I've had a slow start.
I'm glad we finally finished decorating the tree. It's one of those things that takes time and effort and at times you wonder why the heck you're hanging plastic balls from a plastic tree when you could be napping, but it's worth it in the end. To see the twinkling lights giving off a warm glow in the chilly December evenings reminds me of simpler times.
Since we were late in getting the tree up, I'll probably leave it up past Christmas to justify the effort.
