There are only 5 sessions in this class, so there's not much time to get to know the other students, and it's important in these classes to feel comfortable and trust your fellow classmates. Luckily, I had met many in some pre-class workshops so that helped me at least become familiar with many.
I have many areas that I have trouble with, such as overthinking and not committing fully, but I think one of the main things I need to work on is endowing others. Endowment is giving the other person information about himself/herself.
I realized that in my real life, I try to be considerate of others and always ask for everyone's ideas. The thing I don't want to do is to impose my ideas on others.
That mentality hinders me in improv class because if I hold back ideas and wait for the other person to define themselves, that's not being generous. I was discussing this with a classmate and he recommended that instead of seeing it as being bossy, I treat it like I'm adding information. That mental shift may work. I will need to think about it some more.
