The weather during my time in Japan was extremely hot and humid which really slowed me down during my trip, but despite the weather challenges (including Typhoon Jebi which shut down the Osaka airport), I really enjoyed the trip. Going to new country and being surrounded by a different culture gets me out of my comfort zone and provides me with lots of new ideas and inspiration.
My impressions/observations:
1) Amazingly clean public restrooms, subway stations, and streets
2) Extremes between quirky and traditional
3) Some of my favorite moments were those that were unplanned. Like meeting the man doing reed boats on the Philosopher's Path and trying on a kimono at the visitor's center in Tokyo.
4) Refreshing to be surrounded by respect, order and politeness.
5) Cuteness shows up everywhere, from construction sites to escalator handrails.
