I was able to visit England for two weeks in September. Spent the first week mostly in London and then took day trips to the Cotswolds and York in the second week. Unfortunately, I caught a cold, so that made it difficult to fully enjoy my time there.
Random Observations:
1) The drivers and pedestrians were much more aggressive than I expected. Drivers don't yield to pedestrians and pedestrians walk right in front of the double decker buses.
2) You need to hold out your arm as a bus approaches to make sure it stops for you.
3) One of the highlights of my trip was watching Measure for Measure at Shakepeare's Globe theatre. Another highlight was watching the Lion King
4) York was a nice size town to visit. Most of the major sites were located in the same area which made it easy to sightsee.
5) Enjoyed the world-famous museums in London. Londoners are so lucky to have these resources available to them.
6) Weather was mostly overcast and there were a few days where it rained on and off, but nothing severe.
Overall, a nice trip despite being sick. I'm glad I had a chance to visit London. Where to next?
