Getting a finished clay piece can be a long unpredictable process. Lots of things can happen along the way to derail the best-laid plans.
Here are photos of pieces that didn't make it through to completion. Except for the purple vessel that I accidentally dropped, I don't know with certainty what happened to others because I don't have visibility into what happens after I place the pieces on the shelves for the studio staff to fire. My guess is that they cracked or exploded in the kiln.
I gained experience from working on each piece and have photos saved, so fortunately, it's not a total loss. I'm sure there will be more photos to add to this album. Life lessons from arts and crafts!
