However, once I get to class, I usually forget my sleep deprivation (with the help of some coffee), and get into the work ahead of me.. Time is limited in class and much of it is spent on cleanup, so with so much left to do, there's no time to waste.
I'm focused on using the wheel while I'm in class, but still have to make sure that the pieces that I've worked on earlier are not too dry or wet for trimming. Timing is so essential to ceramics and having a class once a week makes it even more tricky to manage.
Anyway, I'm trying to use up my bag of clay, so I have to bring some home to work on because I don't have enough time in class. Above is a photo of a figurine that I'm working on. I had to cut an opening to attach a head to the main body. Working at home creates a big mess, but it's been worth it. It's a great for stress relief.
