Some random thoughts from the trip:
1) Lots of interesting street art in Lisbon.
2) I ate more during my two weeks in Portugal than I've ever eaten, even taking into account holiday times. It was hard not to try out all the different offerings from the breakfast buffet. And of course, I couldn't refuse any meals featuring traditional Portuguese dishes.
3) Wine. Cheese, Bread. Olive oil. Pateis de Nata.
4) The most memorable moment was doing grape stomping. This activity was not mentioned in the travel itinerary, but we happened to be at the winery at the right time. The grapes went all the way up to my knees. It was such an odd feeling stepping to the grape concoction.
5) Porto seemed more touristy than Lisbon.
6) The weather was pretty hot throughout the trip, which made it hard to go out during the middle of the day.
7) The Portuguese people were friendly and easy going.
8) The Lello Bookstore in Porto is a tourist trap. It's got very interesting architecture but there's an entrance fee and it's swarming with tourists trying to compete for the best position to take photos of the staircase, so if you're not into that type of scene, it's best to stay away.
