Last year, I signed up for a sketchbook project, where I paid to get a sketchbook to fill up with drawings/paintings etc...The idea was to complete the sketchbook and then send it back to the organizers who would collect all the sketchbooks from across country and take it on tour in various cities.
My original plan was to use the sketchbook to experiment and play with different techniques. I tried textures, stenciling, stamping, and other sorts of techniques.
Actually, I was surprising myself with how much I liked the outcome of my experiments. Because it turned out better than I expected, and because I didn't have enough time to fill out the entire sketchbook, I ended up not sending it back. I've decided to keep the sketchbook and complete it for myself. Here's a sneak peak at one page. For this page, I used gesso and acrylic and tried out some textures using stamping.
