When I first started, I set an objective of using up the entire 25 pound bag of clay they gave to each student. I'm happy to report that I met my goal! I haven't collected all my pieces yet, but I think I created 21 pieces in total.
I knew that my goal meant that I might have to sacrifice quality and I was fine with that. From the photo above of some of my final pieces, you can see that the one in the back in the middle and the one to the right of it have uneven, jaggedly edges at the bottom. I ran out of time at the end and didn't get to trim these pieces.
I also realized that I would have to do more hand built pieces because I'm not skilled enough on the wheel to churn pieces out fast enough. Lastly, I worked on projects at home as well.
So, I got the quantity thing out of my system. If I take any more classes in the future, I can focus on wheel throwing skills.
