I made 21 pieces and tried to go for different shapes and colors to experiment and see what I like.
Many of these are very clunky and uneven. I don't have a handle on wheel throwing yet, so I made mainly hand built pieces and those are the ones with the super thick walls.
There are lots of mistakes in the pieces above. One of my vases fell off and plopped on the ground while I was moving it. It was squashed on one side, but I decided to get it fired anyway. Another piece, the white one that looks sort of like a hurricane was a mistake on the wheel. Again, I just decided to go with it and get it fired.
I had fun making these even though it was extremely rushed at the end and I was just painting on whatever color happened to be near me, but it's good for me to practice letting go of the need for perfection and not take things too seriously.
This class gave me the opportunity to play around and experiment to see what I like and don't like. I'll need to take additional classes to get more practice and focus more on quality.
