Most of my time is spent being practical, so it's been a goal of mine to buy something purely because I think it looks good, and not because it has to serve any practical purpose. Well, I guess if it looks good, it serves the purpose of enriching my visual experience.
I decided to splurge on some home decor items to spruce up a dining table. I ended up buying a decorative bowl and some various spheres. The bowl is subtle and versatile enough to bring us through the fall and holiday season.
It took a while to decide on the spheres. There were many choices to select from. At first there were only metallic/twine-like spheres, but it didn't look substantial, so I added some weight with the solid spheres. I wanted to have different sizes of spheres to fill in small spaces and add interest.
So objective reached--I got my useless decorative items!
